Potentially there will be two publishers, both international but with different foci.

Ripples publishing will focus on collaborative works.

Pepper books will represent individual works.

Ripples publishing and pepper books will use a variation of the dot.business model.

  • local authors are represented globally by the publisher’s website
  • e-books instantly available
  • printed editions available in two ways: via a local/regional book workshop in a minimum order edition, or as bespoke edition via a bespoke books workshop.
  • illustrations, book layouts and cover designs will be done by local artists
  • audiobooks digital & sign language videos instantly (with subscriptions options, including for a day)
  • audiobooks & videos physical (is there an environmentally friendly way?)
  • could book workshops/stations lend tablets?

book stations & bespoke books network

Both ripples publishing and pepper books will be part of the book stations network.

The book stations are an idea I developed in 2022 which is based on the ideas for Hub Stations and for dot.stations both of which originated in the easy town story.

Ripples books publishing & pepper books publishing will be the in-house publishers for the book stations network and will cooperate with the bespoke books network.

The Hub

The Hub is an idea for a new internet which rooted in all corners of the planet and contradicts much of what makes today’s internet tick.

The Hub consists of so-called rooms. One of those is the library, a place the user can design the way they like it. They can use the library to lend, buy or borrow ripples and pepper books, and store them in their library.

Another option is to use the digital Hub outlet of a local bookshop or book station to purchase books. All communications with bookshops, book workshops and book stations could be done via the Hub.

dot.

dot. is the idea for an international clothing company. Cooperation could include outfits of characters which could be offered in connection with the books on the dot.website and on the publisher’s website, or on the Hub.
